St. Maarten – The third annual Pink Phit Phabulous walk is set to take place this Sunday with the assembly point at Divico, Colebay from 5:30 am.

The theme for this year’s event is Walk n Splash as organized by the Elektralytes Foundation and the Positive Foundation.

Both foundations said that the business community has been very supportive of their event which promotes breast cancer awareness, regular screenings and health and wellness. Thus far  over 2000 items have been donated for Sunday’s walk.  They are intended for free distribution to participants only.

“Together we can try to save more lives. The whole grand event is to remind people that we have to celebrate take charge and live well. We are encouraging men to come out as well and children too. Make it a family activity. Please don’t forget to wear you bathing suits,” president of the Positive Foundation Shelly Alphonso said.

From Divico, the parade heads up the Colebay Hill passes Harold Jack and then from the roundabout goes down the recently cleared Indigo Bay road. It will then go through Cay Bay, pass the GEBE power plant and heads onto Welfare Road. From then on the group will remain on the main thoroughfare until it reaches the Mullet Bay Beach.

Participants will be able to unwind there, purchase a $6.00 breakfast, do zumba and water aerobics or just swim in the sea. The Diabetes Foundation will also be on hand to do blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.
