St. Maarten – When the new mall opens it’s doors today for the first time, in addition to having a variety of items on the shelves only available in Panama, they will be making it possible for at least 15 persons to be employed for now, but that figure can escalate during the hype of the festive season.

“We just wanted to bring something different that nobody has, with everything in one spot, it’s a one stop store,” said Sami Masoud, the Manager at Majestics Fashion which is also located on back Street. However, this Mini Mall is affiliated with the Bader Group, from Panama.

According to Masoud, when the store opens today, only first floor will be opened for business and that will have a variety of cosmetic items for the ladies along with modern items for saloons, carpets and children’s attire. On the 15th of December, second floor will be opened to the public and that is where household items will be available. The upper floor will be used display furniture early in the new year.

“Because of this mall, we will be creating jobs for people, we already employed eight persons to work on the first floor and we will be employing 12 more, anybody with a valid resident permit can apply. Business has been very slow lately and I think it’s because a lot of people have been shopping online now and we are trying to minimize that by bringing the same items at a lower price,” he added.
