St. Maarten – The Minister of Justice Roland Duncan and the Minister Public Health, Social Development and Labor Cornelius de Weever have authorized the issuing renewals process for BTA Category 2 permit-holders. This process is meant for persons requiring an extension.
Employers, with BTA permit-holders working for them, who’s’ permits will expire in November will be contacted directly by phone to set up appointments. Applicants suspected of having submitted a request with a false employer will also be contacted by phone to arrange an appointment.
“Please be strictly advised that all persons will be contacted by phone for further instructions and to set up an appointment. Walk-ins will therefore not be accepted,” a joint release stated.
All employers must have a valid labor registration, valid copy of passport of the BTA applicant, copy of residence permit of the BTA applicant, labor agreement between the employer and the employee and valid medical insurance when they have their appointment. The employers will also have to pay a processing fee before they can receive the permit. A payment order will be issued in advance.
