Parliament set to elect new president Tuesday

St. Maarten – While the political situation is currently anything but clear, the new majority in parliament intends to elect a new president of parliament next week Tuesday in a meeting scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

The parliament is set to elect Sarah Wescot-Williams as its president and to appoint two vice presidents.

The meeting was requested by National Alliance faction members William Marlin and Silveria Jacobs, Democratic Party MP Sarah Wescot-Williams, United St. Maarten party MP Frans Richardson and MP Maurice Lake.
