Parliament meets Tuesday on Ombudsman’s formation plan, allowances and BTA ProcessPOSTED: 01/31/11 11:55 AM
St. Maarten – President of Parliament drs Gracita Arrindell has announced Parliament have a general public meeting on Tuesday, February 1 at 3:00 p.m in the Dr. Claude Wathey Legislative Hall. Members of Parliament (MPs) will vote on the formation plan of the Office of the Ombudsman as well as the various allowances for the Ombudsman.
The formation plan and other business related to the office of the Ombudsman were discussed in the Central Committee of Parliament on January 13th, 24th and 25th.
Parliament will also discuss the matter of the Brooks Towers Accord (BTA) and have requested the presence of the Minister of Justice Roland Duncan to question him with respect to the continuation of the BTA process. The BTA agenda point was requested by the National Alliance faction in parliament.
