St. Maarten – The world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor.com has awarded Pearl Development’s Oyster Bay Beach Resort the 2012 Certificate of Excellence Award. On Wednesday the site sent the company a congratulatory message stating that, “Our travelers consistently commend your property with the highest praise, and we recognize your rating as an exceptional achievement. Only the very best in the business are awarded a Certificate of Excellence, display yours proudly in a place where your guests can see it.”
The conferring of the award on the resort represents the third international recognition since the year started. Managing Director of the award winning resort, Ricardo Perez considers the excellent customer service and prudent financial management as keys to the resort’s success.

“First of all I have one of the finest team of employees and managers in the Caribbean. Their dedication to exemplary customer service is one of our major keys to success. They treat the guests like family not just like customers. This is one of the many reasons we have such a high rate of repeat customers which end up translating their loyalty and satisfaction into owning a timeshare unit with us. In addition over the past three years, the developer has invested $19 million in upgrading Oyster Bay Beach Resort into a luxury-focused resort community,” Perez said.

As the world’s largest travelling site TripAdvisor.com attracts more than 50 million monthly visitors, over 60 million reviews and is operational in 30 countries globally. Because of the site’s profound influence on the tourism industry, Perez said that he expects the award recognition to increase occupancy.

“Once you realize how influential TripAdvisor is, when it really sinks in, we are proud and honored for receiving such recognition. This award is another step in ensuring we continue positioning the resort as a top luxury property in St. Maarten and in the region. Recognitions like this one and our recent placement as one to the top resorts in the Caribbean for value by the savvy and well-travelled readers of Travel and Leisure magazine are one of our most effective marketing tools. We expect that this recognition should help us increase our already high levels of occupancy in the immediate and distant future.”

TripAdvisor.com is still to mail the official certificate of excellence to the resort. It is expected to arrive within two weeks and lasts for one year.
