St. Maarten – Carnival passed without major incidents, Chief prosecutor Mr. Hans Mos told this newspaper yesterday. “In general everything was quiet,” he said. “There have been a few skirmishes, but nothing so serious that the police had to get involved. One man was detained because he wanted to enter the Festival village with a knife. He was caught during the control at the entrance. But there have been no major incidents.”
