THE HAGUE – There were no state secrets leaked from the Kingdom Council of Ministers, Kingdom Relations Minister Piet Hein Donner said yesterday. At most there is a violation of the rules of confidentiality, the Minister answered to questions posed by Socialist Party MP Ronald van Raak.
Van Raak said that Prime Minister Rutte was hiding from the Prime Minister of Curacao.
But Donner maintained that there was no leak in the Kingdom Council of Ministers. “It is about a report from the Minister of Plenipotentiary to his principals. How do you think Ministers of Plenipotentiary can function if they are not able to report about the Kingdom Council of Ministers? I agree with you that this should not have become public, but it is a violation of the rules of confidentiality.”
The contested document is a letter from Minister of Plenipotentiary Sheldry Osepa to Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte. Because it has probably become public in Curacao, it is up to the government of Curacao to investigate this, Donner said.
