MARIGOT – The set up of a university in St. Martin is one of the points that Territorial Councilor Louis Mussington will discuss with French presidential candidate François Hollande when the two meet on February 17. Thursday’s meeting with Hollande is one of several that will run from February 16 to February 20
Hollande is currently a member of the French National Assembly and Mussington has requested a discussion on: a financial recovery plan for the Collectivité de St. Martin, quality teaching in St. Martin and the creation of a university, developing a plan to fight unemployment in partnership with the state and economic actors and developing an investment program financed by the French government.

Another key meeting is a discussion with Antoine-Laurent Figuiere at the Ministry of Culture and Communication. The duo will be continuing discussions on developing culture in Saint-Martin.
One of the direct requests Mussington will table is for the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs to open an office in St. Martin. He believes this and the signing of a convention on cultural development will help to enhance cooperation with the Collectivité.
