St. Maarten – Discussions at the inter-parliamentary Kingdom Consultation conclude today with discussions on the scheduling of future inter-parliamentary contact meetings between the four countries within the Kingdom. A press conference by the delegation leaders and vice chair persons will follow immediately after as there will be no final declaration from the meeting.

On Friday night St. Maarten’s delegation will visit the offices of St. Maarten Student Support Services (S4) in Amsterdam to give an information session on the role of the permanent parliamentary committee, the repayment of student loans, and ‘Sint Maarten, your next best move after you have completed your studies.’

Discussions on Thursday focused on energy policy. The delegations visited the Technical University of Delft/TNO Delft in the morning and then held discussions in the afternoon on how energy policy relates to economic development, energy consumption, innovation, green energy, and waste and sewage treatment.

The Sint Maarten parliamentary delegation comprises of President of Parliament Gracita Arrindell, Chairman of the Kingdom Affairs & Inter-parliamentary Relations Committee Member of Parliament Roy Marlin, Ruth Douglass, Patrick Illidge, William Marlin, Secretary General of Parliament Jossy Semeleer, and Advisor Ralph Richardson.
