MP Johan Leonard gets his facts upside down

St. Maarten – United People’s party MP Johan Leonard somehow got his facts upside down when he addressed the issue of special education during yesterday’s Central Committee. The Ministry of Education has designated a new school in Belvedere for special teaching children with special needs.

Leonard: “I want to address the situation with the special education school in Pointe Blanche. I have no problem with special education. But in Belvedere and in Dutch Quarter we have a lot of students that are going to these types of education. I am talking about primary and secondary school. Why not put it in Belvedere? Then you save money, they don’t have to go all the way to St. Peters, or to other places. Let’s plan a little better.”
