Mother’s Day karaoke festival to last longer

St. Maaretn – By popular demand, the Aging with Grace (AGW) Foundation has extended the hours of the program of the upcoming Mother’s Day karaoke festival and dance party on Sunday at Port de Plaisance from 6 p.m. until 8:30 pm.

The program gets underway from 3:00 pm and features a line-up of Golden Stars (singers of age 55 and over) such as Sinclair Barry, Anlucinda Meit, Bobby Ottley, Josianne Fleming, Peter Cox, Elsa Meyers and many other surprise performers with Wally Havertong being the master of ceremonies.

Members of the audience will be given the opportunity to pay tribute to mothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, significant others and female role models who have played or are playing a significant role in their lives. The karaoke expert for this event is Antonio Janga also known as Skina Kaliente. The festive atmosphere will be further enhanced with great music provided by the well-known D.J. Ruby.

Tickets cost $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. It covers one drink and finger foods. However food and drinks will be on sale. Mothers in the audience will also receive a token of appreciation from the AWG.

Attendees are being asked to wear festive colors such as pink, white, yellow and green. Children are also being encouraged to attend the event at a cost $8.00. Tickets are on sale at both Van Dorp bookstores, Family Bookstore, Richniel N.V. in the Cannegieter Street and from members of the AWG Foundation.
