St. Maarten – Missing senior Victor Thomas was found on Tuesday evening. The 79-year-old, who had gone missing on Friday evening, had fallen near the former Sheik supermarket and he ended up in the bushes. Thomas was dehydrated but otherwise conscious. He was taken to the St. Maarten Medical Center for observation where he remained in stable condition.
Family and friends had started missing Thomas on Saturday. They noted that he would usually walk from his home on the Poinsetta Road in Betty’s Estate to the former Sheik supermarket where he would catch a bus to go to Philipsburg.
The Rotary Alzheimer’s Awareness Committee, chaired by Maria Buncamper-Molanus noted that a search for the missing man ought to focus on places he is familiar with and where he usually goes. The advice was spot on.
