Cultural event on Friday at clinic in Cay Hill

St. Maarten – The Mental Health Foundation is having its second St. Maarten Day Celebration on Friday at the clinic in Cay Hill from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We are very excited to again be hosting this cultural affair and are inviting the community to celebrate St. Maarten Day with us,” the foundation stated in a press release.

Similar to last year, there will be various displays with food tasting of cultural dishes. The staff and some of the clients at the foundation have been working diligently towards putting this project together.

“Our food tasting includes fish cakes, tarts, cookies and other cultural treats. For our food sale there will be many tasty options to choose from,” the press release states

“We encourage the public to take part in this very fun and flavorsome activity for a good cause. We especially would like to invite those that have never visited our foundation and are curious about how we service the community.”

Tickets for the food sale are available at the Mental Health Foundation and will be on sale at the event.

“We hope this project will remind us that despite our personal struggles love, respect and friendship are always key components of who we are as a people,” the press release states.
