At this meeting all ministers will make their positions available and the national decree to dissolve parliament will be signed by the governor and countersigned by Prime Minister Marcel Gumbs, the prime minister’s cabinet states in a press release last night.
The Council of Ministers has advised the Census Office and Electoral Council to prepare for elections.
On Thursday, the governor asked MP William Marlin to form a new cabinet that will remain in office until the appointment of a cabinet based on the result of the elections.
The outgoing Gumbs cabinet “sincerely hopes that this will produce the stability our young country needs,” the press release states.
