St. Maarten – An argument between two men over paying a bill has put one man in the hospital and prompted a police investigation. The argument took place in the parking lot of SEL Maduro & Sons between 6:15 p.m. and 6:20 a.m.

Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson said three shots were fired and the victim got hit in the buttocks. The injuries he sustained are not life threatening.

At press time police were piecing together what happened by questioning witnesses. They also have plans to question the victim. They could not immediately do so because the man was treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken to the St. Maarten Medical Center.
