St. Maarten – Sea Side Nature Park in Cay Bay served as the ideal backdrop for an unusual form of entertainment with a horse show, dance, Barbeque and live entertainment from the 911 band last Saturday. The event was organized to put the focus on the Sea Side Nature Park.
“We wanted to offer something different to the people on the island. This is the third year we have organized an event like this, but what we did this year was to make some adjustments to the program,” coordinator Alexandra Halley said.
The afternoon’s events, which started just after 3:00 p.m. included synchronized riding from a group of young riders, western theme dance by a trio of ladies in the beach hut, barrel racing which required the participants to navigate three barrels in a specified formation, a flamenco dance and horse dance, synchronized riding by adult riders and a paso fino show on the beach.
The kids and adults who arrived early at the Nature Park was afforded a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the animals there, like the extremely tame rabbits, miniature horse and turtles. Children also had free acess to the playing facilities there.
