St. Maarten – The Caribbean Living statues festival will return to St. Maarten in the weekend of 8 and 9 December, initiator Beyond Writing Foundation President Loekie Morales announced in a press release.

Next week Saturday there is an information session at the Motiance Dance school on the Longwall Road from 5 p.m. until 6.30 p.m.

In the week from 3 to 7 December participants will get workshops in body painting, storytelling and all aspects related to being a living statue.

“After this training they will be able to exhibit as a real living statue that can present cheerful entertainment and telling their story to the public through the use of body language,” Morales stated.

The Beyond Writing Foundation organizes the event together with the Motiance Dance School and the World Statues Foundation. The Mondriaan Foundation and the Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund Foundation are again the main sponsors.

The organization is still looking for local agencies, banks or other private sector parties to make a cozy statue by night possible in the Simpson Bay or Maho area.
