Little League competition heats up

St. Maarten – Milton Peters College Stars MPC made light work of the mixed schools Monday in a secondary schools division of the current little league baseball tournament. Ashielle Hodge carried the day for his team from the defensive, while Bryan Gonzalez’s two home runs and grand slam gave MPC the offensive victory. Hodge join Gonzalez on the best batters list with 2-2 while the best batter for the mixed schools Jose Antonio was 1-2.
On Tuesday the MPC Braves beat the St. Maarten Vocational Training School 4 -3. Jamal Constance was the winning pitcher and the best batters were Joshua Emmanuel and Jeremy Illidge who both had 1-1. Raymond Rombley was the best batter for the vocational team with 2-3.
Eddricio Brooks emerged as the winning pitcher for the St Maarten Academy PSVE in the school’s defeat of Sundial. The final score was 8 – 3 and Ronaldo Skeete was the best batter with 1 – 1.
In the final game of the elementary division played on Thursday Keanu Guishard excelled and became the winning pitcher during Sister Borgia Primary School’s defeat of the Hillside Christian School. He also emerged as the best batter with 1-2. Jose Cortez also got 1-2.The final score was 5 – 3. Sister Borgia led 5 – 0 up until the bottom of the fifth inning when Hillside added three quick runs.
