Letter: Using parliament as a bully pulpit

Dear Editor,

I am totally disappointed with our parliamentarians for allowing the minister of justice to use the house of parliament as his bully pulpit. The minister of justice used (misused) a central committee meeting of parliament to criticize the governor and the governor’s cabinet. In his “melodrama” the minister of justice used words like “holier than thou”, which was very childish of the minister of justice.
What the minister of justice did in parliament was uncalled for and should not happen again. If there is a matter of concern between the council of ministers, the governor and the governor’s cabinet, this has to be dealt with in camera. Country St. Maarten gains nothing from “theatrical scenes” in the house of parliament.
