St. Maarten – The last of the Power Hour events original carded for today October 17 has been cancelled and will now be merged with the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) carded for November 17-23.  The power behind both the Power Hour and local participation in the GEW, Ifeola Badejo said the Heels and Cufflinks power hour event carded for today was merged with the GEW because of the passage of Gonzalo.

Badejo explained that she understands the need of entrepreneurs to secure their businesses and to be on hand to ensure smooth continuation of their operations in the wake of Gonzalo so it was thought best not to host the event this evening. Badejo explained that persons who already purchased their tickets for tonight’s power hour can use these same tickets for the GEW event.

Participation in the GEW ensures that St. Maarten will be among more than 140 countries which will be celebrating innovators and job creators as well as helping people start their businesses.

This international platform helps to inspire those who have never started a business before as well as support those who are growing their business by engaging the local and international publics in various activities on local, national and international scales. Power Hour is a networking event for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial professionals that has grown over the course the year to include leadership training and serve as a moment of inspiration and empowerment.
