St. Maarten News – The Vromi-Ministry continues with its plan to build 175 parking places at the location on Kim Sha beach where formerly La Bamba was established.

The ministry wants a parking lot built of concrete, with boulders surrounding the property. The parking lot will get one entrance only. The contractor will also have to install street lights, build sidewalks and paint pedestrian crossings.

Last Wednesday there was an information meeting about the project at the department of infrastructure. On the tender date, March 2, envelopes will be opened and bids will be announced.

Sad to hear that La Bamba Beach Bar (located on the sand of the beach) will be replaced by a concrete parking lot. And I believed building any type of structure on the beach was not allowed. Perhaps is x meters from the shore line….
