Justice Academy Cadets interviews Minister of JusticePOSTED: 09/30/14 12:12 AM
St. Maarten—Illegal weapon possession and the victims of human trafficking were high on the agenda of the cadets of the customs and immigration services during a recent interview with justice minister Dennis Richardson.
The cadets wanted to know from the minister what policies were in place or are currently being prepared to tackle these issues. They were also interested in the results that have been achieved and in results that can be achieved through these policies.
After more than two hours of what the ministers’ office refers to as “intensive conversation”, the Justice Minister expressed his appreciation for the cadets interest in the “why’s and how’s” of their work that they will be engaged in and not only for the technical aspects of executing their jobs.
“The Minister is of the opinion that such broader interests of employees contribute to help create intelligent and therefore more effective law enforcement agencies. He wishes the cadets much success in their endeavors,” a press release from the office of the Justice Minister stated.
