“I have always conducted myself in a professional manner”

St. Maarten – “By means of resolution of the general meeting of shareholders of GEBE, I have been appointed for my second four years’ term as member of the Supervisory Board of Directors of GEBE for the period July 9th , 2012 thru July 8th`, 2016.  Even though of short notice, considering circumstances that are of a personal nature, I must inform you that I have decided to prematurely end my second term as member and as chairman of the Supervisory Board of Directors of GEBE,” Julius Lambert said in a press release yesterday. “Consequently, you are hereby informed that my retirement takes effect January 8th, 2014.”

Lambert was hired by the utility company in 1981, and has been with them ever since. “I was employed by GEBE in the utility business as a regular employee of GEBE, in 1994 I was appointed as managing director of GEBE and in 2008 as chairman of the Board of Supervisory Directors of GEBE,” Lambert explained.  “During these many years I have always conducted myself in a professional manner and have always served with commitment the interest of the company and by extension the interest of the community.  The most rewarding of these more than 30 years of service to GEBE is that, despite the changes in the local administration, that I remained focused and not deterred from serving the interest of GEBE and the community.”

Lambert said that “because of this focus and the commitment of the many employees of GEBE to the development of the company, SOAB after an in-depth operational audit announced GEBE to be the best managed government owned company throughout the (former) Netherlands Antilles.”

Lambert concluded by saying that “this was only possible through the professional contribution and positive relationship that existed between myself and the employees of GEBE.   The many years that I have worked together with the employees of GEBE have been decisive in carving my legacy, an experience which I will always cherish.”
