St. Maarten – Second Vice President of Parliament Patrick Illidge and Vice Chair of the Permanent Committee on Inter-parliamentary Affairs and Kingdom Relations Dr. Ruth Douglas will represent the Parliament of St. Maarten at Curacao’s Flag Day celebrations on July 2. They will also participate in a meeting between Presidents of Parliament on establishing a four party meeting between the Parliaments of Curacao, Aruba, St. Maarten and the National Assembly of Suriname.

The delegation was approved during a Central Committee meeting on Tuesday. The faction of the National Alliance has chosen not to form part of the delegation. According to National Alliance MP, “It’s not about factions being represented but about the Parliament having a representative.”
