St. Maarten – Insurance Company of the Windward Islands (ICWI) will launch its flagship Road Angel policy at its Cole Bay Office at 6:00 p.m. The policy, which is specifically geared toward female drivers, was first introduced in ICWI’s home country of Jamaica for over 30 years. The Road Angel policy is based on a corporate belief that female motorists deserve special recognition and benefits as all records indicate that they have fewer accidents than their male counterparts.
“The introduction of the Road Angel Policy to the people of St. Maarten offers ICWI the opportunity to rebrand itself as a company that is not only known for its regional insurance heft, reliability and innovation, but as a company that is committed to serving the people of St. Maarten with unique policies and benefits,” a release states.
The regular benefits of the policy are a 20 percent discount on premiums, free accident forgiveness, free uninsured motorist coverage and the excess being reduced by five percent every year (for a maximum of three years). The loyalty benefits that begin after three years are an increase in medical benefits, – up to 25 percent – an increase in personal effects payments, – up to 100 percent – an increase in manslaughter limits – up to 50 percent – and an increase in personal accident benefits – up to 50 percent.
