Hiccups with garbage collection on St. MaartenPOSTED: 04/5/16 9:00 PM
St. Maarten News – The new contracts for garbage collection kicked in on April Fools Day but the transition to the new situation did not go smoothly. The government said in a press release that “unfortunately during the transition period the collectors have experienced some hiccups which caused a delay in the garbage collection.”
The garbage contracts have been granted in eight parcels to five different companies. The government says that it has ironed out the hiccups with the contractors and that from now on the garbage collection should run smoothly. In case of complaints, contact the contractor responsible for the are.
This is how the garbage contracts have been divided. All Waste in Place NV (520 55 26) has parcel 1 – the Philipsburg area, including the Secretaris Steeg depicted with this article.
Robelto and Sons (556 36 82) has two parcels. Parcel 5: Fort Willem, Bush Road, Zagersgut, Coralita Road, Mary’s Fancy, intersection L.B. Scott Road and Gladiola Road towards Cay Hill, A.J.C. Brouwers Road towards Cole Bay. Parcel 6: Intersection L.B. Scott Road and Gladiola Road towards South Reward, St. Johns, Retreat Estate, Saunders, Betty’s Estate, Ebenezer, St. Peters, South Reward and Weymouth Hill.
SM Green Diamond (520 84 91) has parcel 2: Pointe Blanche, Sucker Garden, Pond Island and Madame Estate, and parcel 4: Dutch Quarter and Belvedere.
Leonard Enterprises (520 42 26) has parcel 7: Cole Bay Hill, Indigo Bay, Cole Bay, Cape Bay, Pelican, areas towards Simpson Bay Bridge.
Garden Boyz NV (553 78 23) has parcel 3: Mount William, Middle Region, Defiance, Oyster Pond and Dawn Beach.
