Governors review status of countries

St. Maarten – Governor Eugene Holiday and his colleagues from Curacao (Frits Goedgedrag) and Aruba (Fredis Refunjol) discussed the current political situation in Aruba, Curacao and St. Maarten, financial and economic developments, regional developments and topics relevant at the Kingdom level during a meeting St. Maarten on Monday. The three governors also discussed the celebration of “200 years Kingdom”, which is scheduled for 2013.

Monday’s gathering is one of the regular twice yearly meetings the governors have to discuss and exchange experiences on topics of common interest. After they concluded their formal discussions the three governors toured the Simpson Bay Lagoon. The Nature Foundation’s Manager Tadzio Bervoets provided information on the various developments in the Lagoon and environmental protection initiatives being done by the Nature Foundation and others.
