Governor on working visit to Europe

St. Maarten – Governor Eugène Holiday begins today with a 5-day working visit to Europe. The focus of the visit is on sustainable educational, cultural and economic development. The governor will meet with the Director General and other UNESCO representatives, as well as with the permanent representative of the Dutch Kingdom at UNESCO and the Dutch Ambassador in Paris.

The Governor will also visit the EU headquarters in Brussels where he will hold talks with, among others, EU Commissioner for Development Cooperation and the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the European Union.

Governor Holiday will conclude his visit in The Netherlands where he will pay a visit to the Cultural Heritage Agency, meet with the new chairlady of the Second Chamber and attend the bi-annual meeting between the Governors of Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten and the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.
