St. Maarten News – While the price of unleaded gas on the French side has been a steady $0.87 for months, the price on the Dutch side goes up once again today, from 1.763 to 1.868 guilders (from $0.984 to $1.044). Gas is now $0.174 per liter more expensive on the Dutch side, a difference of 20.2 percent. The price comparison only applies to French-side gas stations that offer a 1:1 rate for dollars to the euro.
The price of diesel goes up from 1.222 to 1.368 guilders (from $0.683 to $0.764) per liter, an increase of $0.081, or 11.9 percent.
The price for a cylinder of 100 pounds of cooking gas goes up from 112.96 to 123.12 (from $63.11 to $68.78); a 20 pound cylinder goes from 21.73 to 23.76 (from $12.14 to $13.27) and the bulk price goes from 0.97 to 1.07 guilders (from $0.542 to $0.598) per pound.
