St. Maarten – Gasoline and diesel prices fell again Saturday. This is the second time this month there’s been an adjustment in prices. The first adjustment this month was on May 14 when gas and diesel prices fell by 10 and 17 guilder cents respectively.

When the prices fell again on Saturday, gasoline fell a further 10 guilder cents to 2.53 guilders ($1.40) per liter and diesel fell nine cents to 2.07 guilders ($1.15) per liter. The prices were 2.63 guilders ($1.46) per liter for gasoline and 2.33 guilders ($1.29).

The prices have fallen because there is still no progress in negotiating a peace deal in Libya and the death of Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. Both these developments continued to put downward pressure on gasoline prices worldwide this week and so the prices here have been adjusted.
