GREAT BAY – The St. Maarten advisory board of Samenwerkende Fondsen/Cooperating Foundations of the Dutch Caribbean will host an information session from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on March 31 to familiarize foundations and associations of St. Maarten with formulating project plans they submit for approval. The session, which will take place in the drama class room of the St. Dominic High School, includes the possibility to interact with the members of the advisory board.
Cooperating Foundations is a collaboration between five Dutch funding agencies, namely Skanfonds, Oranje Fonds, Stichting Kinderpostzegels, Fonds Sluytermans van Loo and Innovatiefonds Zorgverzekeraars that aims at strengthening society and living up to the motto: “Together we participate, together we are stronger”. The collaborating funding agencies strive to support projects in the Dutch Caribbean that focus on community development or that target children, youngsters and senior citizens. Other focal points are poverty alleviation, relief for vulnerable groups and projects catering to volunteers and persons with a handicap or a chronic disease.
The local project advisors Leon Lake and Saskia Kliphuis are available in evenings on Wednesday and Friday afternoons and Saturdays on request. Foundations that would like to hand in a request for funding can contact the project advisors on 586-0808 or send an email to samfondsxm@gmail.com.
