St. Maarten – Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Rhoda Arrindell has opened the four bids that have been submitted for a contract to build the new Secondary Vocational Education (SBO) School in Cay Hill. The project is being financed by Usona using Dutch development funds.

The bids range between 4.86 million guilders (Taliesin Construction N.V.) and 6.698 million guilders (Liccom N.V.). The bids in between came from Sabrenzo Construction N.V. (5, 531, 069.49) and Betonbouw Caribbean N.V. (5,996,000).

All the bids will now be evaluated to determine their completeness and whether the contractor can complete the project based on the submitted price offer. When the evaluation is over an awarding advice will be submitted to the Council of Ministers for final approval and awarding the contract. The project should start within four to six weeks because all the bids are within the available budget.
