GREAT BAY- The annual observance of Rights of the Child Week by the Voice Of Our Children foundation will start on Tuesday November 20. The foundation says that it has “taken on a big responsibility” by producing a 2013 calendar for the first time. The calendar will be unique, VOOC president Sharmaine Olivacce says because it will feature 13 of the articles of the Convention on the Rights of the Children.

The Meyers Group of Companies, Nagico, Pete’s Photo and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs are partnering with the foundation for the production of the full, glossy and informative calendars.

According to the United Nations all children have these rights, no matter who they are, where they live, what their parents do, what language they speak, what their religion is, whether they are a boy or girl, what their culture is, whether they have a disability, whether they are rich or poor. No child should be treated unfairly on any basis.  It also issues sound warning to governments to ensure that these rights are protected. They must help the family to protect children rights and create an environment where they can grow and reach their potential.

Hundreds of calendars will be printed in time for the Rights of the Child Week.
