Five to vie for spot in international pageant

St. Maarten – On November 3 five beautiful young ladies will participate in a pageant to see who will represent St Maarten in the 22nd Miss Caraibes Hibiscus at the Casino Royale in December.

Ann Meyers, the local franchise holder organizes this pre-pageant and the girls contesting for the top spot are Caroline Paredes, Sheila Jose, Diana Constant, Alejandra Sprott and Stephanie Fraites.

Paredes, an Aquarian whose hobbies are modeling, dancing and reading was born on February 4, 1991 and will have a distinct advantage over her counterparts in this event. She competed in Caribbean Top Model 2009, the winner of Miss Presidente in 2011, Miss Venus in the same year and was third runner up in the Miss Bikini contest.

It will be a first for contestant number two Sheila Jose – the tallest of the group. This Libra beauty was born on October 6, 1991 and loves dancing, drawing and playing the piano which can be a great asset on the stage the night in question.

Constant number three Diana Constant who was born under the sign of Pieces also loves dancing, singing, modeling and loves playing with numbers because she loves mathematics. Alejandra Sprott, the fourth contestant on the list is also an Aquarian that was born on January 28, 1995. “This is my first time in a pageant and so far, I am loving it,” Sprott said.

Stephanie Fraites, contestant number five is a Libra who was born on September 2, 1992. Her bobbies are singing, dancing, having fun and playing softball. “This is my first pageant, in the beginning I was really shy but I have opened up and got to know my fellow contestants. So far it’s a great experience,” she said.

The lucky person will grace the stage on December 8 along with contestants from 24 countries, an event which is by far the biggest pageant on the island to date.
