First Constitution Day Monday, October 12

St. Maarten – The government has published the ordinance today that designates the second Monday of October as Constitution Day, an official holiday. The ordinance goes into effect tomorrow, meaning that the second Monday of this month, October 12, is an official holiday. The Today newspaper will not appear that day.

With the introduction of Constitution Day, St. Maarten has abolished Kingdom Day that was celebrated each year on December 15.
