St. Maarten – The family of Gerald Christopher James laments the fact that the gendarmerie still has not made an arrest in the murder-investigation. James, who would have turned 19 yesterday, was shot to death in a house in St. Georges on the French side on April 7 of this year. He was a student at the Milton Peters College.
The gendarmerie initially held a teenager from French Quarter who was in the house together with a sixteen year old girl when a gunman walked in and killed the boy. The teenager was released after questioning.
The family placed a memorial ad in local media to mark what would have been James, who was nicknamed Youg G or Baby Gerald, to mark what would have been his nineteenth birthday. “You were taken away from us on April 7th, 2011. Still no arrest,” the ad read.
