St. Maarten – Ennia donated $6,706 to The Mental Health Foundation last week so the latter can create infomercials that will raise public awareness of mental health. The donation means that Ennia joins a list of contributors that include government, volunteers and partners that have helped the organization grow “from its humble beginnings to a full-fledged psychiatric care system offering quality care on St. Maarten as well as to other neighboring islands like St. Eustatius, Saba and Anguilla.”

“We believe that having a mental illness does not make a person weaker or less valuable than anyone else. Ennia is very proud to be part of the awareness campaign for Mental Health,” Ennia’s Manager Myrtille Brookson said.

Due to the development of The Mental Health Foundation, which operates as a secondary health care provider, patients can now receive their treatment without needing to leave the island. To the families of the patients this is also a total comfort; knowing that they can be visited by their loved ones.
