Emancipation Day and criminal code in parliament on Monday

St. Maarten – The parliament will discuss the Emancipation Ordinance on Monday in a public meeting at the parliament building that begins at ten o’clock.

After the central committee backed a proposal by Culture Minister Rhoda Arrindell this week to make July 1, Emancipation Day, a national holiday, it is now up to the parliament to take the final decision..

The parliament will also discuss the national ordinance of the new Criminal Code.

The meeting will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 20 and via Pearl Radio FM 98.1. The audio will be carried via the internet  at www.pearlfmradio.com.
