St. Maarten – Lisa Alexander and a handful of activists were on governor drs. Eugène Holiday’s doorstep yesterday morning wanting to know when they could expect an answer to their petition in which they demand new elections, Andrew Dick reports on Caribisch Netwerk.

Governor Holiday received Alexander. He handed her a letter in which he confirms that he received the petition. The governor had asked the Council of Ministers to put the petition on its agenda for its next meeting.

Alexander told Dick that she had also sent the petition to parliament and that she had received confirmation that it has been received. “We will do everything to achieve the wish of the people,” she said, adding that so far around 3,000 citizens have signed the petition.
