At first glance, the governing program the cabinet sent to the parliament yesterday is disappointing. That’s not the end of the world – it just means that there is room for improvement.
Our main concern is that the program does not contain a single deadline. When is the government going to do what? How are they going to pay for it?
It is for instance all nice and dandy to announce the intention – because that’s what it is – to reduce energy costs by introducing waste to energy technology, but when is this going to become a reality?
This project has been around for years and citizens finally want to see some concrete results. Who can blame them with the toxic clouds the landfill emits from time to time, hanging over their heads?
If we take the governing program as a starting point, then we are now off to the races. It is up to each ministry to present tangible projects with real deadlines real soon.
The clock is ticking and of the 48-month governing period up to 10-10-18, nine are already behind us.
