The dispute between home owners at the Rainbow Beach Club and the property’s owners has a long – and some would say painful – history. Over the past couple of years there have been quite some stories that put the complex in a less favorable light, and yesterday’s protest by disgruntled owners at the courthouse added just another chapter to this saga.
It is not likely that the dust will settle any time soon over this dispute. If the court rules in favor of the Rainbow Beach Club and against the angry home-owners the lawsuits will simply continue and generate more bad publicity. If the ruling goes the other way, the home owners get some responsibilities on their plate they may come to regret.

Civil law does not work like a democracy where the majority decides, the attorney for the Rainbow Beach Club pointed out, and that is something to keep in mind when the ruling arrives on February 3.
Whatever happens, it seems like a good idea to give future buyers into local real estate projects good information about the contracts they sign. This way, there is no need for litigation of the kind we are experiencing now.
