Marcel Loor was released from prison more than four years ago. Due to the final ruling by the
Supreme Court, the former head of immigration is making some headlines again. His conviction is final, but he served his sentence already a long time ago.

Someone may come knocking on his door though to collect the 15,000 guilders fine that has now become irrevocable, and then the prosecutor’s office might decide to revive the procedure to seize assets from the former policeman it considers criminal profits.

So while the Supreme Court has said the final word about the criminal conviction, the story that started with Loor’s arrest on June 19, 2007, has not really ended yet.

Legal procedures take time, but they do run their course.
