There is a significant queue of draft ordinances waiting for approval at the parliament. It is a sad testimony to the lackluster performance of the fifteen MPs that are supposed to represent the interest of the people that elected them.

Why all this legislation is not moving forward is a mystery. One thing is certain: this does not seem to bother our elected representatives because so far nobody has made an issue of it.

The dissatisfaction about all this in the legal community is palpable, but attorneys do not have any tools at their disposal to make the parliament do what it is supposed to do.

The parliament will come back from its vacation next month and it has plenty of work on its plate – an interesting challenge for its new president Arrindell.
