It appears that the Efeze-investigation into weapons and drugs trafficking and money laundering is a family affair with an 81-year old patriarch, his 56-year old spouse and two sons of 27 and 23 years of age. One of the sons is currently serving a 16-year prison term for seven attempted manslaughters.
This makes it in itself admirable that investigators have been able to get wind of this gang’s activities.
Take for instance the Greek terrorist organization November 17; it existed between 1975 and 2002 and was disbanded after some of its members – all family – finally had been arrested. The tight-knit organization managed to keep its secrets for decades, killing 23 people over the years in more than one hundred attacks.
The Efeze-suspects are of a slightly different character of course – they are in it for the money. The charges against the family also place the murder of the girlfriend of the eldest son, on March 18, 2014, in a different perspective.
At times you get burned when you play with fire.
