Now that the other side of the dispute between the Dean of the Bar Association and attorney Cor Merx has more or less come to light, it puts the harsh criticism from the dean in a different perspective.

First of all, it appears now that there is at least one attorney that sides with Merx but more interestingly, the criticized emails do not contain any offensive language at all. On the contrary, Merx surfaces as a senior attorney who is willing to assist the new generation.

We understand that the dean has a personal beef with Merx, a result from their cooperation in the appeal of Anthony Ray Spencer, who was acquitted of the January 23, 2010 murder of Christian Lloyd on February 6, 2013.

While the dean has accused Merx of discrediting the legal profession, it seems now that the dean is the one who has been doing most of the damage.
