Dutch faction leaders arrive

St. Maarten – Seven faction leaders of parties in the Dutch Second Chamber arrived for a working visit to the Caribbean together with Parliament President Gerdi Verbeet. The faction leaders paid a visit to the parliament building in Philipsburg where they met for a closed session with members of parliament.
The seven faction leaders are Arie Slob (CU), Steph Blok (VVD), Job Cohen (PvdA), Jolanda Sap (GL), Alexander Pechthold (D66), Sybrand van Haersma Buma (CDA), and Cees van der Staaij (SGP).
The delegation also met with Governor Eugene Holiday and the Council of Ministers.
Saturday the Dutch politicians left for Saba and Statia. They return to St. Maarten on Monday and will then visit the I Can Foundation and the Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise & Cargo Facility. On Tuesday morning there is a breakfast meeting and a brief meeting with local media.
The delegation will then travel on to Curacao and Aruba.
