Dutch daily The Telegraaf poll: sever ties with St. Maarten

POSTED: 03/12/13 10:55 AM

St. Maarten – The aftermath of the Patrick Illidge bribery scandal is still burning through the media in the Netherlands. Yesterday the Telegraaf used its section Question of the Day to poll its readers about this issue: “The Netherlands has to sever its ties with St. Maarten unless the government puts its house in order.”

The question is inspired by statement from Socialist Party parliamentarian Ronald van Raak, who called St. Maarten a nest of crooks and a corrupted mess. The Telegraaf will publish the (predictable) result of its poll tomorrow.
