Marigot, St. Martin – Dozens of people took part in a white march through the streets of Marigot Saturday morning to commemorate murder victim Pascal Delalosa, an employee of the First Deco store located at the Rue de Hollande.
The participants, all dressed in white, marched along the seafront and through the town towards the First Deco store, where they clapped their hands and chanted Delalosa’s name.
Pascal Delalosa was murdered in the night of November 22 in his apartment at the Marina Royale.
According to opposition territorial council member Alain Richardson, who briefly spoke with this newspaper during the march, Delalosa had complained to the gendarmerie about the destructive behavior of certain characters in his neighborhood.
Richardson said that he is concerned about the trend towards increasing violence on both sides of the island. “If we do not educate young people, if we do not give them perspective, this is the result,” he said.
The gendarmerie has arrested two suspects; on Friday these suspects were transferred to the prison in Basse-Terre, in Guadeloupe.
