Donner visits St. Maarten next week

St. Maarten – Vice Chairman of the Council of State, Piet Hein Donner, will  a visit to St. Maarten next week Thursday, where he will meet with Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams, Governor Eugène Holiday and President of Parliament Rodolphe Samuel for the biannual Four Council Deliberation of the Council of State and the Council of Advice of the Dutch Caribbean.

The reason of Donner’s visit, who will arrive in Aruba today, is a renewed introduction between Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten and the BES Islands; Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius, this time for it’s first in his new function as Vice Chairman of the Council of State.

The program starts tomorrow where a meeting will take place with Governor Fred Refunjol, States President Paul Croes and Prime Minister Mike Eman. Saturday morning Donner will fly to Bonaire where he will attend a deliberation with the Island Council and a meeting with healthcare representatives.

Sunday morning Donner will pay a visit to Curacao where he will meet Acting Governor Adéle van der Pluijm-Vrede and Prime Minister Daniel Hodge. A meeting with State President Mike Franco as well as a second meeting with Hodge, a visit to the State Prison and a talk with PS-Leader Helmin Wiels will also be on the agenda.

Next week Tuesday Donner flies to Saba and St. Eustatius. Meetings with both bodies of government, Island States and representatives of healthcare will be part of the program.

Donner will arrive next week Thursday on St. Maarten where he will stay for one day to return to the Netherlands the next day.
